Today we went to the Lebanon border and took a picture by the fence and spoke to a nice soldier. It turns out that he was half Lebanese and half Irish.  At the Lebanese border is the Rosh HaNikra Grottos after the Grotto we then went to Acre (Akko) and walked through the souq and had a nice fish lunch at Abu Christo.  After lunch, we went to this little town where we walked around a bit. Unforutanlety, I don’t remember the name of the town.

This is a side note about our Tour Guide Zvika he was one of the best guides we ever had. He showed us all the best Israel had to offer. His business card is the first picture below. Tell him you want The John & Maria from NY Experience. I guarantee you will have a great time!

Today we were redirected to Haifa because the Palestinians were throwing missiles into Israel at the Gaza Strip. Our tour guide Zvika Livneh picked us up from Haifa and took us to see Caesarea. After dinner, Zvika took us for a walk around Jerusalem at nighttime.  I recommend doing that if you get the chance.

Athens, Greece 2018

July 12, 2018

The first thing John and I always do while in Athens is walk through Plaka. We always stay at Hotel Grand Bretagne which is in the heart of the city.  After grabbing a bite to eat we decided to burn off what we ate and walked to the old Panathenaic Olympic stadium and we also visited the Temple of Hephaestus,  Stoa of Attalos, Zappeion and lastly the Temple of Olympian Zeus. The next day we woke up and got a transfer to the port to board the ship.

July 22, 2018 – Second time visiting Athens

Today we took a taxi to Syntagma Square with our friend Samantha and saw the official changing of the guards with the band after that we walked to Plaka which is my favorite place to visit while in Athens.  We decided to have lunch and then took a taxi back to the ship.

My husband John and I are very fortunate to be able to travel the world the way we do. My father-in-law passed away at the age of 54 and never left New York. John decided that he would try and travel as much as he can before time passes us by and who am I to stop him (lol) so here we go….

We have been to 93 countries on six continents and 49 states in North America, and we are just getting started. Some of the posts are out of date order I apologize in advance. I also wanted to add that this website has become as busy as having a second job and that’s why it seems as if a 10-year-old is the writer. My husband John is also the editor and he is waaaaayyyyy behind so if there are any errors sorry.

If you have any questions, comments, or would like suggestions, please shoot me a message. Enjoy reading while we continue to explore this amazing world we live in.

If you would like to get in touch with us please feel free to send an email to  [email protected].

Freeport, Bahamas

Today we had an excursion to go and hang out with dolphins. It was a really memorable experience that I highly recommend. We got a chance to take a picture and interact with them. They are so smart I was shocked at how much they knew.

Today we start out our tour with a trip to San Pedro de la Roca Castle Santiago de Cuba which was a great fort. We had a chance to see these women performing. I have a video of their performance down below. The next stop was a visit to the San Juan Hill and the Cathedral Santiago de Cuba. We also got a chance to see a local dance group perform as well. Once again videos are down below.

Today we drove to Our Lady of Jagua which is a fortress that was built in the 18th century. After a brief visit to the fortress, we saw local performers. Please scroll down below to see some of the videos from the performance.

After the performance, we stopped at a local restaurant and had a quick bite to eat. The food was delicious!

Havana, Cuba

May 12, 2018

Today we arrived at the Port of Havana. The first thing John and I both noticed was how dirty the water was. It was full of oil it looked like black mud. The first thing we drove by was the American Embassy with all the famous flagpoles in front of it. There were no flags blocking it, but the poles were all there. We then drove about 3 hours to the Vinales Valley and visited the home of a cigar farmer and got a cache to see him roll a cigar which was pretty cool. The next stop was the Mural de la Prehistoria and took a few pics of the big mural.

The coolest part of being in Havana was the World Famous Tropicana show. If you are planning on going to Cuba make sure you purchase the tickets ahead of time.

May 13, 2018

Today we had another tour scheduled the first stop was a visit to the Fortaleza de San Carlos de la Cabana Fort and walked around that for about an hour the last stop on the long tour day was the El Cristo de la Habana Statue.
